As you know, when you enter a Horseshoe Tournament you are entered with your HI 3 Percentage. To some pitchers this sometimes is confusing. Let's see if we can explain how this works. For Most Horseshoe pitchers who play under 10 tournaments a year this is how you figure it out. Your HI 3 is the 3 higest tournaments within the last 12 month period. If the date is August 15 1997, you only go back 12 months to August 15 1996. Also if you have only played one or two tourney's/leagues (Events) in a 12 month period that ave. of one or two events is your HI 3. Tournaments and Leagues are called Events and your 3 highest events are your hi 3. See example # 1 below.
Example # 1 (if you play less then 10 tourneys for a 12 month period)
Let's say today is 10 June 1997
PLACE | DATE | SHOES | RINGERS | AVG | .NOTES | . |
HAMILTON OPEN | 5 MAY 96 | 300 | 150 | 50.00 | pct out of date | THIS 50% TOURNEY IS NO GOOD BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF THE 12 MONTH PERIOD |
BILL LARSON MEMORIAL | 16 JUN 96 | 350 | 160 | 45.71 | .
KEENE OPEN | 20 JUL 96 | 326 | 102 | 31.29 | pct lower | . |
MASS STATE | 11 AUG 96 | 358 | 135 | 37.71 | pct lower | . |
NEW ENGLAND CHAMP. | 2 SEP 96 | 312 | 98 | 31.41 | pct lower | . |
HAMILTON OPEN | 4 MAY 97 | 262 | 110 | 41.98 | .
KEENE WARM-UP | 8 JUN 97 | 268 | 121 | 45.15 | .
If today is 10 June 1997 your HI 3 would be the adv. of 391 total ringers diveded by a total of 880 shoes witch would equal 44.43% your HI 3

Now what about the Horseshoe Pitcher who plays over 10 Tournaments a year. If you play more then 10 tourneys in a 12 month period you will ONLY base your HI 3 on those last 10 tournaments. See example # 2.
Example # 2 (For those who play more then 10 tourneys within a 12 month period)
PLACE | DATE | SHOES | RINGERS | AVG | .NOTES | . |
HAMILTON OPEN | 5 MAY 96 | 300 | 150 | 50.00 | BEYOND 12 MOUNTS | THIS 50% TOURNEY IS NO GOOD BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF THE 12 MONTH PERIOD |
MASS RTM | 19 MAY 96 | 304 | 92 | 30.26 | BEYOND 12 MONTHS | . |
HALL MEMORIAL | 26 MAY 96 | 350 | 120 | 34.29 | BEYOND 12 MONTHS | . |
BILL LARSON MEMORIAL | 16 JUN 96 | 350 | 160 | 45.71 | NOT LAST 10 | . |
KEENE OPEN | 20 JUL 96 | 326 | 102 | 31.29 | NOT LAST 10 | . |
NASHUA OPEN | 21 JUL 96 | 350 | 145 | 41.43 | NOT LAST 10 | . |
CLAM BAKE DOUBLES | 27 JUL 96 | 300 | 135 | 45.00 | NOT LAST 10 | . |
MASS STATE | 11 AUG 96 | 268 | 121 | 45.15 | NOT LAST 10 | This player has 15 tourneys within 12 months but only the last 10 can be used for his HI 3 |
MASS OPEN | 18 AUG 96 | 292 | 134 | 45.89 | 3
NEW ENGLAND CHAMP. | 2 SEP 96 | 312 | 98 | 31.41 | PCT LOWER | . |
MASS STATE DOUBLES | 5 OCT 96 | 280 | 109 | 38.93 | PCT LOWER | . |
CT SPD | 16 MAR 97 | 296 | 102 | 34.46 | PCT LOWER | . |
CT AFC | 6 APR 96 | 272 | 114 | 41.91 | PCT LOWER | . |
CT SF | 20 APR 97 | 246 | 127 | 51.63 | 1
HAMILTON OPEN | 4 MAY 97 | 316 | 133 | 42.09 | PCT LOWER | . |
RTM | 17 MAY 97 | 260 | 131 | 50.38 | 2
HALL MEMORIAL | 25 MAY 97 | 358 | 135 | 37.71 | PCT LOWER | . |
KEENE WARM-UP | 8 JUN 97 | 262 | 110 | 41.98 | PCT LOWER | . |
If today is 10 June 1997 your HI 3 would be the adv. of 392 ringers diveded by 798 shoes witch would equal 49.12%, your HI 3
