Bertha started pitching in 1979, achieving a 45.% in her first year. In succeeding years she has brought her average up to 71.6%. Playing in Class A for seven years her accomplishments are impressive. While pitching excellent she was also the Westford H,S, Club treasurer for two years. The past five years 1983-1988 she has been Asst. Tournament Director of the Dracut Civic Club. In 1989 she is the Director of the Mass. Open. In club and league tournaments 1979 - 1982 she won 7 1st places, 3 2nd places, and 2 3rd places. In 1982 she won Class B at Keene NH, runner-up in Mass State and 2nd place in Mass. Doubles.

The New England Tournaments saw her win Class B 3rd place in 1981, During 1984-1987 she won 3rd place in class A 4 times. In 1985 Bertha won Top-Ten national Sanction League Player Award. Some of Bertha's outstanding fests are 1998 breaking the Sodbusters Club of Vermont high game with a 95.4%, 21 out of 22 ringers, 1988 New England Class A 2nd place. 1988 first place in Mass., Vermont, Maine, and NH. In 1989 current season started at Lewiston Maine Class A with an 81.8%. (Which was pitched under water)
