Bill started pitching in 1950 and discontinued tournament in 1968,except for local meets. His best years were from 1957 through 1968.

He won the Western Mass. Championship 5 times and the Hampden County title 4 times. He finished second 4 times in that period. In 1960 he won the Western Mass. With 61.8%, the Mass. State with 64.8% and finished second in the New England Championship with 64.6%. In six years in the Mass. State meets he averaged 62% in Class "A". In 4 New England and 4 Mass. Open meets his average was 61%.
