Tom's
articles on Horseshoe Pitching first appeared in the early 10960's with
local, State and New England Tournaments. He then received national
recognition for his outstanding coverage of the 1968, and 1974 World
Tournaments held in Keene. Pitchers throughout the country were very
impressed with his photos and meticulous coverage of each days events.
He also put New England horseshoes in the spot-light with his photos on
the cover of the Horseshoe Pitchers Digest, a magazine published by the
National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. Over the years his articles included such notables as: Elmer Hohl, Curt day, Paul Focht, Debbie Michaud, Brian Simmons and countless others. His writings have always shown a sincere concern for all horseshoe pitchers-from the most talented to beginners at their first tournament. Men, Women and Juniors all received equal recognition. His accumulation of vital statistics of the game has enabled him to add that personal aand historic perspective to his writings. He has been associated with the Keene Horseshoe Club and often served in the capacity of Vice President in charge of Publicity. Although he never pitched a horseshoe competitively, he became very close to the hundreds of players he wrote about. |
