|Noah Lathrop along
with his brother Claire ran the Lathrop Lumber business in Bristol.
Later he formed his own lumber yard.
Noah Lathrop along with his wife Katherine joined the Sodbusters Horseshoe Pitching Club in 1975. He was a member in the years of 1975 - 1984; 1986 - 1988. In 1991, on the 25th Anniversary of the Sodbusters he rejoined along with his wife Katherine and again in 1995.
Noah held the Club President for three years from 1977 - 1979. In 1980, he was a Tournament Director for the Sodbusters
He was the Vermont State Secretary/Treasurer for three years from 1979 - 1981. The second person from this club at that time to hold a State Office. His contact with the Governor's Office gave Vermont its first official "Pitch Horseshoes for Health Week"
Noah created an original idea for a special club award in the Sodbusters and came up with the "Sodbusters Special Recognition Award" presented to a person with at least 10 years of membership and who helped out a lot for the Club. He took the money out of his pocket to pay for this award.
Noah played in many tournaments throughout New England, helped setup the Vermont States, and played in the New England's a few times.award.Noah passed away in 2009.
Noah has also been a real competitor in the Sodbuster leagues playing several summers. Noah was always a positive person in our sport, and that is why we are proud to induct him into the Vermont Hall of Fame.
